I provided government support to ensure the industrial and economic vision of the GFG Alliance at its Lochaber aluminium complex at Fort William is achieved. I worked alongside senior figures from the Highland Council, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and a range of public sector bodies to ensure the planned multi-million pound investment in the Fort William area is implemented. I also worked to develop new policy approaches to the Government’s future handling of interventions with businesses and industrial projects of key strategic value to the Scottish economy. I researched potential intervention methods and created project management tools to successfully assess and monitor future projects.

Management of the Scottish Business Pledge project, a government initiative to promote good working practices within Scottish companies. I oversaw the application process for perspective companies and managed stakeholder relations with Pledge companies. I undertook the first analysis of the effects of the pledge on businesses practice in Scotland.

Development and management of the key Ministerial engagement events run by the Scottish Government for the business leadership of Scotland. I worked with policy colleagues and Ministerial offices to develop event content and engaged with enterprise agencies and businesses to ensure the success of events like the National Economic Forum and the Convention of the Highlands and Islands. These events act as key tools to help shape government policy through industry collusion.

I supported the President of the Tribunal, handling correspondence with members of the Judiciary, public bodies and user groups as well as managing the communications strategy for the Tribunal, a project redeveloping the Tribunals website and communication with judicial members. I lead extensive engagement with advocacy groups and Third sector organisations to support the implementation of major new Tribunal procedures introduced as a result of legislative changes.

I enabled the project development and running of a new review body in Scotland setup under The Council Tax Reduction (Scotland) Amendment (No.2) Regulations 2013 to handle peoples disputes with local authorities regarding their Council Tax Reduction awards.

I held responsibilities for the processing of early pension payment applications. Duties included reviewing and processing of applications, developing a central record to ensure agency targets were accurately monitored and achieved. I supported the liaison between external medical reviewers and the NHS and Teacher internal payment teams to ensure the delivery of best practice in terms of agency response times.

I provided management support to the backstage operations of a Simply Food store in Glasgow. Duties included managing staff rosters, processing stock deliveries, finance reports, tracking stock movement and handling customer phone calls.
