I have over 20 years of leadership experience in the telecommunications industry. My real passion is coaching and mentoring others in order to help them achieve their own career and life goals. In a previous role at TELUS, we created a framework around aligning individual's personal passions with the work that they do and the goals of the organization they work for. I implemented this framework with 70 leaders and 700 team members in order to help them get more fulfilment from the work they were doing. I also created and drove a "People and Culture Roadmap" which was an overall strategic plan on how to support a team and focus on making our organization a cool place to work. Part of my responsibilities in my role as "People and Culture Champion" included learning and development, communications, engagement, continuous improvement, recognition, career planning/succession planning, leadership development and coaching/facilitating. I had access to a $100M budget and a group of 20 individuals that allowed us to create, test best practices from a people and culture perspective. We were able to take the engagement score for this team from 54% to 85%, reduce churn and increase productivity, all while making our area one of the most sought after teams to be part of at TELUS. In my current role, my responsibility is to drive the transformation of our team's culture while delivering on our operational goals and help elevate our brand as a team in the process.
