Byron Flesher

For the last 6 years I’ve worked as a commercial photographer, developing custom workflows and lighting looks for galleries and special collections. For these clients I formulated shooting standards, trained photographers on board to shoot and retouch, and ultimately developed a distinct way of presenting documented objects for each client.

For this firm I traveled on assignment as a freelance assistant and digital tech to over 70 different assignments within 8 years, photographing architecture and engineering projects both domestic and international. These assignments required technical expertise, comprehensive planning, working with tight schedules, while consistently maintaining and communicating the vision of the architect through photography.

I worked as an assistant for Nick Merrick at Hedrich Blessing until it closed and became Hall+Merrick Photographers.

While working within the marketing department at BTI, I managed the photography studio, photographed objects, retouched images, designed marketing emails, and created print catalogs. For the photo studio, I designed a manual for best practices with templates for lighting and placement for each product type, to achieve consistency between the different photographers.
