|Responsibilities| Financial Modelling Development and maintenance of complex financial models for metals and mining project finance transactions. Proposal Development Contribute to the development of proposals for potential mandates by preparing pitch materials, presentations, and formal proposal documentation. Contract Negotiation Participate in the contract negotiation and review processes with clients, lenders, advisors, and other relevant parties. Business Development Identify and evaluate new business opportunities for growth, expansion, investment, or partnership. Financial Analysis Perform financial analysis, including discounted cash flow and multiple analysis, to evaluate the financial viability of projects and investment/divestment opportunities. Mergers & Acquisitions Participate in the evaluation of potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures and conduct the associated due diligence and financial modelling. Budgeting and Forecasting Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes and provide input and commentary on assumptions, projections, and expected performance. |Accomplishments| Built a stochastic model to predict the production impact of facility downtime on performance of the upgrader to justify the construction of a transfer pipeline, resulting in project sanction and a projected NPV of $53m. Assisted in developing a long-term upgrader bitumen supply strategy by evaluating organic growth, asset acquisition, third-party supply, and hybrid approaches and the associated risks and benefits. Led the commercial evaluation of M&A opportunities to expand upstream production, focusing on strategic fit, operational and regional synergies, market versus intrinsic value, and acquisition likelihood. Constructed and negotiated an agreement for third-party use of a Suncor owned airport, offsetting operating costs and resulting in a NPV of $6.3m.

|Responsibilities| Production Forecasting Develop production forecasts based on geo/petrophysical characteristics and historical performance and analyze pro-forma versus actual data to identify well performance anomalies. Business Planning and Long-Range Planning Deliver the production, capital, and operating budget for the asset over the subsequent ten years and 60 year life-of-field. Reserves Evaluation Lead the external reserves evaluation and audit process required for financial reporting, investment decision-making, and overall asset management. Economic Evaluation and Financial Analysis Perform economic evaluations of projects using financial metrics such as NPV and discounted profitability index (DPI) to assess project viability, justify budgets, and identify a pipeline of value accretive projects Well Testing and Analysis Conduct well tests to gather data on reservoir properties and performance and analyze the data to inform decision making processes. |Accomplishments| Delivered the MacKay River asset's 10-year Business Plan, forecasting over 125 million barrels and $700m of CAPEX, and modelled the impact of various carbon pricing sensitivities on the long-term free cash flow of the asset. Justified the inclusion of a sustaining brownfield drilling program in the Business Plan, enabling the deferral of $80m of CAPEX from the 2021 budget while maintaining production. Programmed an Excel-based tool automating the forecasting and ranking of brownfield drilling opportunities by NPV. Acted as the internal focal point for the 2020 Reserves Evaluation, providing all required documentation to the external evaluator, reconciled reserve movements, and presented final reserve volumes and asset value to the business unit executive. Led an integrated team through a Major Property Review demonstrating development options, sensitivities, and risks, ultimately aligning on the development strategy and resulting in an approved Business Plan.

|Responsibilities| Field Optimization Real-time monitoring of field data and data visualization tools to optimize field operations for efficient and reliable production. Contractor Management Coordinate and manage contractors for a variety of projects and trials, ensuring access to site, appropriate safety training and competencies, adherence to drug and alcohol policies, and work permitting. Equipment Troubleshooting & Maintenance Coordination Identify equipment for repair/replacement, manage the work request and work order process, and coordinate maintenance work spanning several disciplines. Management of Change Lead the management of change process for equipment installations, process implementations/modifications, and technical drawing revisions. Project Execution and Implementation Coordinate between site and office staff for the safe and successful implementation and execution of projects. |Accomplishments| Led a risk assessment for flowing back a production well following a chemical stimulation, identified critical infrastructure, sample points, and water chemistry specifications and implemented testing and mitigating measures to ensure a safe return to service. Identified a design flaw on a process spool in a standardized design and proposed a solution for both retrofit and new build scenarios that was implemented into existing and future designs. Led the Management of Change process for collecting additional data from electric submersible pumps (ESPs) to enable predictive analytics for identifying future failures and better understanding failure mechanisms. Managed a technology trial converting traditional low-rate gas injection pressure measurement to subsurface electronic gauges, stewarding the project from inception to post-mortem evaluation.

|Responsibilities| Field Optimization Utilize data synthesis and analytics capabilities to optimize steam and production allocation based on facility constraints, KPIs, and real-time monitoring. Production Forecasting Utilize multiple forecasting techniques (petrophysical, simulation, empirical, probabilistic) to estimate production trends, optimize reservoir performance, and inform sustaining capital decisions. Integrated Team Leadership Lead and collaborate with integrated project teams from various disciplines to make decisions regarding operations, capital investments, regulatory submissions, and budget allocations. Disposal System Management Manage and optimize the facilities water disposal system to minimize facility interruptions, maintain water balance, and maximize oil plant utilization. Project and Technology Development Identify, substantiate, and implement capital projects and new technologies that would be value accretive to the asset. |Accomplishments| Developed a novel steam injection technology utilizing critical flow concepts, validated the technology using Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis, and progressed the project through the internal technology implementation management system. Enhanced safety and on-time performance by identifying and addressing issues with the disposal system control valves, increasing the disposal capacity without compromising safety. Led a project team in the successful generation, submission, and approval of a regulatory application for an additional disposal well.

|Responsibilities| Project Design and Management Oversee project design, management, and implementation for drilling and completions projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards. Completions Project Management Write and execute completions programs for various projects, including initial completions, workovers, surface and subsurface abandonments, remediation, dewatering, etcetera. Contractor Management and Procurement Manage contractors and vendors involved in drilling and completions projects. Oversee the procurement processes, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely and cost effective delivery of services and materials. Risk Assessment and Mitigation Identify risks associated with drilling and completions activities and develop and implement risk management plans to ensure safe and efficient project execution. Stakeholder Relationship Management Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and project partners. |Accomplishments| Successfully solved a complex mine dewatering problem, resulting in a fit-for-purpose solution capable of processing and transporting water with challenging H2S concentrations. Obtained approval from the Energy Regulator and successfully executed a unique, non-routine well abandonment within oilsands mineable boundaries. Identified and managed the abandonment of 6 inactive legacy wells, yielding an incremental NPV of ~$500K. Wrote and executed completions programs for a diverse range of projects, demonstrating versatility in project management and technical engineering.
