Production D&B Engineer at Newmont Boddington Gold - Ensure that the weekly drill and blast schedule is in line with the medium term planning. - Constantly communicating with Production Planning Engineer to any changes in the plan. - Ensuring that the drill and blast weekly schedule is adhere to on a daily basis. - Designing drill patterns for drill crew and creating blast firing plan for blast crew. - Liaise with Geology department and Geotechnical department to ensure that firing plan and drill pattern boundary minimises ore dilution and wall damage. - Liaise with drilling department daily to ensure that the weekly plan is followed and notifying them of upcoming patterns and clean ups required. - Liaise with the blasting department for any changes in the blast loading plan and also to ensure blasting schedule is achievable.

Duties at Handlebar Hill Open Cut includes:- Mine Planning Engineer and Drill and Blast Engineer - Doing the 6 Weekly Mine Plan - Ensuring daily mine plan is being executed properly - Ensuring the final pit design is being achieved - Designing the FInal Waste Dump for the expansion - Modify the Stage 2 Pit Design to maximise ore recovery - Created a Temporary Stage 3 Pit Design to mine ore ahead of planned schedule - Involved in the Mine Closure of Handlebar HIll Open Cut - Designing drill patterns - Releasing load sheets for the blast crew - Designing the timing for drill patterns using Viewshot (Electronic dets) Other Duties includes:- - Relief survey technician - Additional dump truck operator

- Joined Blast Crew for a duration of 3 months Duties in Blast Crew includes:- - Priming and loading of drill pattern using both Non-electronic detonators and Electronic detonators - Spotter for stemming loader, making sure leads are not being run over. - Tie-up / String in a shot prior to blasting (Using Nonels and Electronic method). Duties at Handlebar HIll Open Cut includes:- Relief Mine Planning Engineer and Relief Drill and Blast Engineer - Doing the 6 Weekly Mine Plan - Ensuring the daily mine plan is being executed properly - Ensuring the correct method is employed in mining the relatively thin ore bodies - Ensuring the waste are being dumped within the design limits - Designing drill patterns - Releasing load sheets for the drill patterns - Designing the timing for the drill patterns using Viewshot (Electronic dets) Relief Survey Technician - Marking out holes for the drillers - Picking up location of drill holes - Processing grade controls using Surpac - Marking out grade control - Pegging out final pit crest lines - Daily check of the floor level Fill-in dump truck operator Duties at Blackstar Open Cut includes:- Short Term Planning Engineer - Doing the Weekly Mine Plan and 6 Weekly Mine Plan - Ensuring daily plan is being executed properly - Creating a Temporary Pit Design for short term use to maximise ore recovery - Ensuring the final pit design is being achieved - Involved in the short-term planning side of the expansion of Blackstar Open Cut - Regular communication with the geologists to determine the ore requirement - Involved in designing drill patterns around areas with voids
