Bryan Lauer CTO of Kognitive Networks. Kognitive Networks provide a SASE/SSE solution that is optimized for the distributed enterprise. Kogntive provides unified secure edge access for the remote office to the main campus, to the mobile worker, with outstanding security and performance over diverse wireless/wired networks. Over 25 years of experience in the telecom industry and has a proven track record of innovation with over 50 U.S. patents awarded. Prior to joining the Kognitive team, Bryan was one of the founding employees with Gogo, Inc. where, from 2006 to 2020, he was instrumental to the design, deployment and operation of the first at-scale, global inflight Internet service. Prior to Gogo, Bryan was an architect for Alcatel Lucent in the wireless mobility division, where he optimized the core service controller for the first widely deployed 3G wireless data system for Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS. Bryan has a PhD in Physics from Iowa State University. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on the search for the Higgs Particle at Fermi National Laboratory 20 years before its eventual discovery at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.

I am an experienced system architect and leader, with strengths at taking concepts/ideas and making them a reality; a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of communication technologies and how to efficiently operate them. Manage several engineering and operational teams that design, prototype, deploy and operate Gogo's Global transport services network. The network services include gogo aircraft systems design, data center and satellite teleport infrastructure and build-out, global WAN, Terrestrial ATG and Ku radio network systems, all IP systems, accounting/authentication systems, firewall/IPS, CALEA support and all traffic policy systems. Further, the team is responsible for the system design of the terrestrial and airborne infrastructure; with AS9100 compliant documentation covering airborne and end to end design specifications, to documents that define the day to day operations of the network, including full 24x7 higher tiered support. I have over 30 US patents awarded and/or in process at this time.

System Architect that focused on core network wireless mobile data communication - EVDO and UMTS. Notable projects were on the 3G EVDO deployment with Verizon Wireless; and in particular system optimization of the radio system data plane and mobility management processors. The explosion of mobile data usage and the move of Voice data via data channels, led to the novel design of a new traffic processor board that integrated an FPGA with a host processor to improve traffic processing performance by 20x.

Research completed at D0 (D-Zero) Collider Detector experiment at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. FNAL accelerator which generated the Proton-AntiProton collisions for my analysis had a center of mass energy of about 1.8 TeV - this was the highest energy collider experiment in the world at that time. The D0 experiment was a beam crossing point on the FNAL ring, and the strength of D0 was the highly dense calorimeter that could make very accurate measures of transverse energy. The FNAL ring is enormous - roughly 4 miles in diameter and the D0 experiment is similarly as large - roughly a cube of detection material with each dimension (L,W,H) of 50 feet (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D0_experiment). My analysis utilized FNAL's run1 data set and I searched for the Higgs Boson with the decay chain signature of two high energy transverse photons with two hadronic jets. The results of the analysis set the best lower limit for the mass of the Higgs Boson at the time.
