Christy Brooks

Christy Brooks’ practice focuses on school and family law, and litigation techniques. Her work for school districts has a special emphasis on state and federal laws affecting pupil matters including discipline and special education. In the family law area, in addition to divorce and paternity, her work includes Collaborative Divorce cases. Christy’s professional memberships include: American and Milwaukee Bar Associations, State Bar of Wisconsin, Association for Women Lawyers, and Wisconsin School Attorneys Association. She served on the Board of Directors for Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association, was president of Wisconsin School Attorneys Association and chaired the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Bench/Bar Committee. In 2001 Christy was named a “Woman of Influence” by the Milwaukee Business Journal. In 2009, she received the Exceptional Pro Bono Advocacy Award from Legal Action of Wisconsin and in 2010 she received the Association for Women Lawyers Annual Pro Bono Award. She is a member of the Milwaukee Barristers’ Club, for which she was Chancellor. Christy is President of the Board of Trustees of The Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a Board Member of the Professional Dimensions Charitable Fund since 2009. She is recognized in Best Lawyers in America® and in Wisconsin Super Lawyers® in Family Law.
