About
"Replace Where We Can, Transition Where We Must, and Mitigate Where We Can't." Meliorate Partners funds have been fortunate to write first checks behind some of this generations most obsessed sustainability founders including Craig and Zach at Tidal Vision (turning crab/shrimp shell waste into chitosan), Tiya at It's Electric (urban EV charging stations), Phil and Maria at Simplifyber (cellulose-based materials), Elias at Hilos (circular shoe design), Lou at Blue Nalu (cell-based seafood), Aarav at Inversa (alt materials from invasive species), Lizzy & Kaitlin at Scope Zero (Carbon Savings Accounts), Stephen at Algenesis (algae-based replacement for polyurethane), Anna at Zoolife (nature TV), and Meghan and Nicole at Raya (LMI solar). Our Envest organization plays a catalytic role in the sector, driving collaboration among leading early stage climate and sustainability funds while identifying and helping future market leaders along their way including Lilac Solutions, Glacier, Terviva, Cruz Foam, Lingrove, and Moleaer. Finally, we commit a portion of our time to educating the next generation of sector entrepreneurs. Our primary engagement is in the Stanford climate innovation ecosystem, where we help accelerate climate and environmental startups coming out of Stanford Climate Ventures, the TomKat Center for Sustainability and the GSB Startup Venture Studio, while also funding post-grad climate innovators as a finalist judge for the $600,000 Doerr School’s Eco-preneurship grant program.

Stanford Climate Ventures
Palo Alto, CA
Stanford Climate Ventures is a three-quarter project-based course sequence that practices the creation of transformational climate ventures and innovation models. In the Fall, it runs the “Big Ideas in White Space in Climate-Tech Entrepreneurship” seminar where it brings in global climate-tech experts to help point the Stanford climate-tech entrepreneurship community to some of the high-impact areas where there aren’t very many startups today (i.e. “white spaces”). During the Winter and Spring quarters it shifts to “project based” mode, where interdisciplinary teams come together to research, analyze, and develop detailed launch plans for high-impact climate-tech start-ups, supported by a hand picked group of mentors. Since its founding in 2016, 45 Stanford Climate Ventures teams have received more than $725m in funding, and include several emerging leaders including Fervo, Brimstone and Mitra Chem.
