Britton Long
Senior Project Manager Consultant @ Turner & Townsend
About
My career in construction started long before it became a career. Growing up, I spent weekends working on projects with my parents, which sparked an interest in how things are built and eventually led me to pursue a degree in Construction Management with a strong focus on design from Brigham Young University–Idaho.Throughout school, I stayed actively involved in the industry through apartment maintenance, cabinet and countertop fabrication, and operating a trim carpentry service. That hands-on foundation has continued to shape how I approach construction management today. Understanding the work from the field level helps me communicate effectively with project teams, anticipate challenges, and approach problems with a practical perspective.Since graduating, my career has progressed through project management, custom residential construction, commercial construction, business development, and construction leadership. I have managed complex projects and multiple concurrent projects, developed relationships with clients, contractors, design professionals, and municipalities, and helped build and develop project management teams. My experience has reinforced my belief that successful construction is as much about people, communication, and accountability as it is about schedules, budgets, and drawings.Today, I serve as a Senior Project Manager Consultant with Turner & Townsend, working in partnership with CBRE to support The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across the Southeast United States. I oversee a regional portfolio of new construction and facility projects, providing leadership and direction to project teams while representing the client’s interests throughout planning, design, preconstruction, construction, and closeout.I’ve built my career from hands-on construction through project and team leadership, and I continue to value the perspective that comes from understanding both the field and the broader objectives behind a project. My focus is on building strong teams and relationships, solving problems effectively, and delivering projects that serve the people and organizations they were built for.

The role of a superintendent was to manage the construction and close-out of custom residential homes. Homes were typically build on large scattered lots and each home varied in final finish selections.
