Brittany Ambridge is a New York based photographer, best known for her environmental portraiture and interiors. Her brand experience spans varying industries including interior design & home goods, wellness, fashion, hospitality, food & beverage, and publishing. Brittany’s excellence for telling visual stories has led her to becoming highly sought after by members of the interior design community, celebrities, tastemakers, commercial brands, and entrepreneurs. Her discerning eye, precision, and curiosity about humanity can be felt throughout her work. Brittany’s newest storytelling venture, hosting Beyond the Portrait, a podcast dedicated to amplifying the inspirational voices of Brittany’s clients, collaborators, and leading experts. Beyond the Portrait spans various industries with an emphasis on empowering and motivating others, through the life experiences and ideologies of Beyond the Portrait’s guests. Ambridge’s early career comprises of earning a B.F.A in Photography from Brigham Young University, interning on the major motion picture Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, working at Rubberball Productions as a retoucher and photo assistant, a Photo Editor at Lonny Magazine, and the sole photographer and Photo Director for the relaunched Domino Magazine before starting her own company in 2015. When Brittany isn’t traveling the globe, you can usually find her at home in Brooklyn, with her rescue pup Margot.

Recruited to head up the photo department where, single handedly, photographed and retouched 95% of all editorial imagery for the relaunched domino magazine. Partnered with the Editorial Director to create a visually distinct point of view that was consistent across all media channels. Responsible for photographing covers, FOB stories, features, BOB stories, and advertisements. Stories ranged from interior home tours, environmental portraits, entertaining stories, travel stories, advertiser initiatives, etc. After the images were shot, worked with the Editorial Director to finalize image selects. After selects were chosen, completed all color and retouching needs. Assembled a seamless production workflow with the graphic designer to manage and deliver image assets. Worked with key production members from Conde Nast and Quad/Graphics to deliver final files for proofing. Worked with a Conde Nast Quality Improvement specialist to discover color correction needs from the proofs, made the necessary changes, and redelivered corrected files for press. Was responsible for creating and maintaining a file management/archiving system for all image assets and model/property releases.

Worked with editors and buyers to find images that would best support editorial concepts and merchandise being featured on One Kings Lane's sales site. Photo researched and licensed editorial imagery to be used in conjunction with commerce sales and for the blog.

Created, organized, and managed issue folders and all imagery, keeping all files (high-res and created content) current on both. Delivered assets to the graphic designer. Maintained backups and delivered finished issue folders to Lonny's parent company, Livingly Media. Pulled the image selects and retouched features, FOB stories, and called-in high res. (Retouching includes, but is not limited to, color management, compositing, light/cord/vent removal, correcting barrel distortion, etc.) Shot and retouched portraits, products, and supplemental FOB stories. Scheduled shoots and managed calendar, travel arrangements, etc. Photo assisted on local shoots for Lonny's lead photographer and helped with styling when needed. Organized and managed the website's photo archive. Other responsibilities included obtaining and organizing model/property releases; fulfilling image requests from other magazines and companies; assisting in issue linking (hyperlinks for people to buy products, etc.); handling NY office's social media for Lonny; and posting for the CA office. Before Lonny's acquisition, served as the sole contact person for social media, which included Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.

(Retouching was the primary responsibility and included beauty, still life/product, logo removal, silhouetting, etc. My specialization is in beauty and color.)
