Assisted all other sales and pre-sales resources in the company with customer meetings, customer demos, design and architecture as well as pricing negotiations. Also the primary liaison between Consonus, NetApp and our Avnet distributor.

Architect cost effective solutions to meet customer business and technical needs in the area of servers, storage, backup and recovery, virtualization, disaster recovery and business continuity. While familiar with all facets of IT solutions our focus is on the data center representing Oracle (Sun), Symantec, NetApp, Hitachi, HP, VMware and Akorri.

Hands on technical manager responsible for management of eight Systems Administrators functioning at various skill levels at several EarthLink offices. My team managed 500+ Windows servers in a highly dynamic 24x7 production environment as well as maintained engineering responsibility for both the Windows server environment as well as the Windows Desktop environment.

Initially functioned as a support engineer for a cable systems integrator for broadband cable modem internet access. Quickly promoted to second level support and to evening/weekend supervisor.

Functioned as a Senior Systems Engineer responsible for the supervision of up to 5 five Jr. Engineers and Administrators at various office locations. Additionally tasked with building and maintaining the Corporate Infrastructure in a complex, multi-domain, LAN/WAN environment. Managed Windows NT4 and 2000 servers, Solaris 7 servers and NetApp F740’s.

Responsible for two core teams which were divided into three sub teams each for a total of 21 direct reports. The first team was Windows Systems Administration and Engineering, which was broken up into three teams. EarthLink SA and Engineering team responsible for design, implementation and management of all Windows servers in the EarthLink environment. The second team was PeoplePC, also a Windows SA and Engineering team, but with focus on the PeoplePC branded systems. The third was the Security team, responsible for Symantec End Point security solutions as well as systems patching. The second “core” team was Core Services Engineering. This team was responsible for most of the customer facing application and products used by EarthLink’s customers today. The three sub teams managed customer mail, web hosting and authentication services. Largely UNIX based, the team managed over 1000 Solaris servers. Storage included a mix of NetApp and DMX gear.

Functioned as a Licensed Practical Nurse from 1996-1998 in a Coronary Care Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Learned to react well under stressful circumstances, exhibit sound judgment, and to adapt to quickly changing environments.

Functioned as a Combat Medic in the US Army.Duties included being promoted above my peers into a squad leader position and a company Sr Medic. Was the assistant NCOIC of a Troop Medical Clinic that was responsible for the care of over 2000 bridge soldiers. Graduated from the US Army Primary Leadership and Development Course on the Commandants List (with honors). This tour also included a combat deployment to Mogadishu, Somalia.
