I am currently a sophomore at the University of Northern Iowa studying Family Services. This upcoming summer I will be doing an internship with YESS (Youth Emergency Services and Shelter) to gain more experience in the field of Human Services. My hometown is Urbandale, Iowa and I moved to Cedar Falls for my education. I enjoy working with people of all ages. I have an extrovert personality and I am very goal oriented. I like to stay active within my community no matter where I am living. In the future I see myself continuing working with non-profit organizations and to continue to help improving others lives.

Mission: Youth Emergency Services & Shelter (YESS) meets the critical needs of the community by providing a continuum of quality programs designed to keep children safe and families together.Since 1973, YESS has evolved to provide families with around-the-clock access to emergency shelter and crisis care. As the largest youth shelter in the state of Iowa, YESS serves over 1,000 children each year, newborn through age 17, providing emergency shelter, respite, crisis care, and counseling services. YESS has become the emergency room for families - one that heals the emotional wounds afflicting so many. The agency's combination of crisis stabilization, emergency shelter, and counseling services does not exist elsewhere in the area, allowing YESS to serve those children and families most vulnerable in our community.
