As a senior IT project manager for MacEwan University, I led the project to transition the university to a new cloud-based learning management system called (Moodle). MacEwan University has over seventy-five thousand students, and thousands of existing courses that needed to be migrated. MacEwan initially used a platform called Blackboard Learn, which operates on a yearly license fee, whereas Moodle is open source and free to operate. In my role, I was tasked with ensuring that all existing technology platforms would work seamlessly with the new system, including student profiles, payment processing, and several existing plugins. Other duties included supervising change management and communication activities for the project. I also supervised numerous project staff, as well as instructors who would be piloting the new technology. Project specific duties included the management of the project schedule, milestones, sprints, the risk register, and reports to stakeholders and senior management.
