Professional Experience & Future Objectives I retired July 12, 2024, from Director, Warehousing & Distribution, London Drugs Limited. I worked with London Drugs Limited for almost 35 years. I enjoyed the opportunity and the pleasure to work directly with three generations of the Louie family, London Drugs' owners, since my start August 14, 1989. I leave there many associates whom I came to respect and appreciate for their consistent effort, friendship and focus on making the company a great Canadian success. I am an experienced senior manager, logistician, mentor and professional musician. I am able to see the ‘Big Picture’ when evaluating team capabilities, strengths and methods: • I have attended Materials Handling Industry conferences and presented project case studies on systems and tools that work to broaden the knowledge of attending professionals and students. • I have led numerous software change projects involving transportation, warehouse functioning, strategic supply chain analytics and execution. • In the 1980s my focus at Federal Express & Purolator was efficiency, cost containment, customer service and value. Developing teams through ongoing leadership training was key to our success. • At London Drugs my team implemented a proprietary Warehouse Management System that works closely with software-assisted materials handling systems, and wireless digital tools that enable employee development, team flexibility and high efficiency. • I know I leave the London Drugs Distribution Service Centre in very capable hands under the leadership of Dave Kubilius and the well-developed department leaders there. I believe in giving back to my community. I think everyone should consider helping others in our shared community. That is why I organized United Way Campaigns with London Drugs and volunteered in numerous other charity events for the past 25 years. I enjoyed being a business mentor assisting students in the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Leaders of Tomorrow program & a PAC advisor for BCIT technical courses. After delivering effective supply chain results for 42 years performing senior roles in operations management, logistics and personnel leadership, I now look forward to healthy lifestyle activities and enjoying a little more music during my retirement. I am open to consider short term contract assignments involving logistics strategy, problem-solving, think tanks and leadership development to assist others to find success. Of course, new work must fit my schedule for homelife balance and gigs playing with my band, The Seabillys.
