Brian Trainor

Former Army Officer, medically retired due to Inflammatory Bowel Disease. As I was leaving the Army I went through the process of applying to and being accepted to conventional medical schools, but chose to pursue a career in Naturopathic medicine. I am passionate about focusing on treating the root cause of dysfunction in a person's physiology and biochemistry to allow their own body to heal itself. My biggest areas of interest are in functional medicine, the gut microbiome, mind-body medicine, and physical medicine. I am interested in connecting with other like-minded medical professionals, and others passionate about helping military and veterans like myself that face challenging chronic health conditions. I am also involved with a faith-based group called the Navigators, which I help by leading Bible studies and discipleship training among the Navy population in San Diego.
