Managing the day to day operations of the National Distribution Center in Bolingbrook, Illinois. Manage the warehouse associates as well as the sales staff and production unit. . I am responsible for confirming we are at the proper service levels in both warehouse and sales staff to service our customers at the highest possible level. Ensuring all associates are fully trained and available to respond to our customer’s needs. Responsible for disciplinary action, hiring / firing decisions and performance reviews of all Bolingbrook employees. Responsible for facility maintenance and repairs, through a bidding process with vendors. Ensuring our same day delivery rate is over 99%, by way of scheduling employees and providing direction of all work activities.

Manages physical inventory for distribution center and satellite locations according to sales forecasts and actual sales. Responsible for counting all materials received and shipped from the distribution center. Enters inventory updates in system. Performs routine stock audits for finance. Audits new shipment packing list against actual materials received to confirm accuracy. Reconciles invoices for payment against purchase orders for goods or services. Approves invoices for payment. Expedites orders which involve subcontractors. Contacts subcontractors for bid and determines the winner according to cost, quality, speed and reliability. Purchases tools and supplies for office and warehouse. Creates bill of ladings for all outbound truck shipments. Creates Nafta and Customs documents. Provides material certification for all products ( Ground Flat Stock, Drill Rod, High Speed Steel).

Manages production activities within Bolingbrook facility including direction of work activities as well as the coordination of manpower and maintenance initiatives. Responsible for ensuring appropriate inventory ( both finished and raw ) levels for the HSS product line and GFS satellite locations. Responsible for the on-time production and delivery of products produced in Bolingbrook. Ensures the proper maintenance and repair of production equipment through the management of third party vendors and coordination of internal maintenance associates for Bolingbrook production area. Provides production forecasts and maximizes capacity of the HSS product line by way of make vs buy analysis. Assists in the support service function when necessary and fills in for Manager of Distribution in his absence. Responsible for procurement function in designated product line. Responsible for every aspect of the High Speed Steel product from ordering raw materials, creating work orders and scheduling employees to maintenance and accounting of the product line.

Product Shipment and Customer Service. To pack , box, and load customer orders and company products onto trucks for shipment. Provide customer services by handling shipping complaints, notifying carriers of shipping requirements, and tracing lost and damaged shipments.

Responsible for the daily cycle counting. Ensure inventory was in the proper locations for cutting, milling and grinding operations to be performed.

Operated several band saws to cut various grades, sizes and shapes of tool steel products. Operated Thompson and Mattison surface grinders. Cut/grind, package and label items for shipment. Loading of materials for LTL shipments.
