Assigned to the 407th Expeditionary Civil Engineering Squadron, I worked in a team to operate, maintain, and inspect a 14x750kW mobile power plant supporting NATO operations. As the only subject-matter expert at the time, I temporarily held a leadership role of maintenance supervisor, solely responsible for the precise and timely maintenance of the four sets of aircraft arresting systems that support aircraft during emergency situations. I was also the lead supply controller during this time period, ordering over 120+ line items to service, repair, and maintain the power plant and the aircraft arresting systems (AAS). During plant outages, we worked in unison with other work centers to bring back power to the distribution grid. When generators would shut down unexpectedly or present any faults, I assisted in fault finding on 12-24 volt systems. In addition to a mobile power plant, we also worked together to maintain 12x350kW CAT emergency standby generators.

Upon completion of the basic power production technician course, I completed my apprenticeship/ OJT program here. I worked in a mid-sized workshop maintaining 57 mobile and facility-installed emergency standby generators. My job here also entailed operating and maintaining the four aircraft arresting systems that support fighter jet aircraft. I responded to five in-flight emergencies, saving ten pilots' lives.

I worked in a workshop that maintained 44 mobile and property-installed emergency generators. Our workshop also maintains aircraft arresting systems (AAS), which are aircraft support assets that stops aircraft in case of flight emergencies. My roles varied with shop manning, so in addition to going to facilities to complete bi-monthly generator tests and inspections and performing maintenance on the AAS. I would also fill in those leadership roles that liaised with facility managers and flight schedulers to schedule generator tests/inspections, and AAS maintenance. I oversee the supply program in the shop, ordering parts and filters for our assets, and managing shelf stock. I also have experience managing other workshop-level programs such as hazardous waste disposal and the safety program.
