Brian Law
Senior Scientist @ Hinge Bio
About
I am a biologist with extensive experience in preclinical drug discovery and translational biology with a proven track record of supporting successful IND filings and FDA approvals. I have served as lead biologist and/or supporter of multiple discovery and late stage programs e.g., high throughput screening, in vitro and ex vivo cellular assay development, MOA, and biomarker discovery. I sponsored and managed CRO studies supporting SAR of multiple programs e.g., study design and execution of preclinical rodent studies (PK, PKPD, efficacy), biochemical assays, and NGS. Additionally, I have experience in building laboratories and biology teams, training and supporting scientists, lab and facilities management, capital/fixed assets procurement and budgeting, and domestic and international compliance (EHS, Cal OSHA, GLP, and IACUC). Beyond the scope of work, I have passion in writing music, exploring outdoors, cooking, and traveling.

Experience

Scientist
Support development of biologics for autoimmune diseases. -Developed flow cytometry based cell binding assays (indirect and competition) to screen protein library using cell lines and primary cells for lead selection. -Functionally characterize leads against clinical translationally relevant agents using flow cytometry (ADCC, ADCP, and Autologous B-cell Depletion).

Scientist
Biology project lead for multiple programs. -Contributed to at least 3 Go/No-Go drug development programs. -Preclinical pharmacology lead for pipeline programs. -High throughput compound library screening supporting SAR and lead optimized molecule selection. -Biomarker strategy, MOA, assay development and execution. -Execution of data and report submissions supporting successful IND filings. -Well versed with EHS - OSHA/CAL OSHA, IACUC, and GxP practice and guidelines. -Adept with lab builds and lab moves.
