My responsibilities included facilitating the medical transcription course at Williston State College from 1998 through 2002, training new medical transcriptionists, proofing/editing medical reports by our employees, and performing medical transcription, myself.

My responsibilities include rooming patients to prepare for the physician's visit at the Specialty Clinic, General Surgery department. Taking vital signs and a health assessments on the patients. Educating patient's on upcoming surgical procedures and other tests. Entering medical data into electronic records. Assisting the physician with in-office procedures and examinations. Safety Officer for the Specialty Clinic and nurse training for new employees. Using skills, etiquette and professionalism in handling phone contact with patients and other medical providers and their offices. Making appointments for patients when necessary. CPT and ICD coding for billing charges and working with insurance companies to determine eligibility, benefits, and prior authorization.

Oral Surgery Assistant/LPN. My responsibilities included preparing patients for oral surgery, either under local or IV sedation, preparing the setups for procedures, and directly assisting the oral surgeon during the procedures, alternating with being responsible to monitor vital signs and airway during procedures. Other responsibilities included sterilizing and packaging of instruments and supply coordinator.
