Gambit is where I took a leap from my scientific and engineering roots into the realm of data strategy and digital transformation. It was my first professional role outside of the lab and a unique opportunity to bring my foundations in STEM to bear on business and product development within the landscape of consumer data. It is amazing how many ways data can transform businesses—whether it’s helping a mom-and-pop shop curate data strategies that compete with enterprise operations, or working with a large enterprise to identify information gaps and create hyper-efficiencies that drive growth. A core component of Gambit value-add was constantly working as a team on innovative ways to generate and manage data. Independent Consultant
During the COVID-19 pandemic, while much of the world went into lockdown, I had the fortunate opportunity to supplement my furloughed full-time position with consulting work. This period became a dynamic chapter in my career, allowing me to contribute to multiple fascinating projects that bridged biology, engineering, and regulatory strategy. One notable project involved leading troubleshooting and product development efforts for a novel oil and gas tracer technology. By implementing and training staff on updated protocols, quality control (QC) processes, and strategic process changes, I helped enhance the technology’s reliability and scalability. In another engagement, I provided R&D expertise for the development and regulatory strategy of gold bioconjugate technologies. These were used as core components in lateral flow assays, serving as companion/confirmation diagnostics, including SARS-CoV-2. My contributions spanned product development, manufacturing processes, and building the roadmap to navigating the complex regulatory pathways required to bring these diagnostics to market.

Senior Product Development Engineer

During my time at NanoGlobal, I experienced tremendous growth as I worked on an incredibly diverse array of technologies, ranging from IoT hardware to antimicrobial hand sanitizers. The projects I contributed to were as varied as the roles I undertook to support their development. This was where I truly became a cross-functional engineer, engaging in everything from regulatory affairs to chemistry manufacturing and controls, and finding ways to bridge technical, regulatory, and market considerations. As a Senior Product Development Engineer, I played a key role in developing innovative antimicrobial technologies. I was deeply involved in new product development (NPD), from defining product specifications and assessing feasibility to leading R&D efforts and creating scalable implementation strategies. I participated in the execution of Quality System Regulation (QSR) requirements to establish GMP-compliant manufacturing processes which included validating raw materials, designing QC protocols, conducting shelf-life studies, and qualifying manufacturers.

Product Development Engineer

As a Product Engineer, my technical focus expanded to include a suite of projects encompassing a mobile healthcare application, IoT for healthcare, environmental monitors, and wearable devices. One day may involve working closely with UI/UX teams to develop user personas and the next might involve working with leadership to address compliance risks related to FDA, FTC, and HIPAA requirements. NanoGlobal was a period of intense professional and personal growth for me. The scope of the technologies and responsibilities I took on sharpened my ability to think holistically and act decisively, whether I was solving technical challenges, navigating complex regulations, or strategizing product roadmaps. These experiences continue to influence how I approach problems and contribute to cross-functional teams.

R&D Engineer
My time at Nanohybrids was profoundly formative, it shaped the trajectory of my career and instilled a deep appreciation for discipline and work-life balance. As an R&D Engineer, I had the privilege of engaging in the intricate and rewarding craft of nanoparticle synthesis, specifically gold nanoparticles—a visually stunning and scientifically enriching process. On a macro scale, the solutions we created spanned every color of the rainbow (and even infrared), but it was under the electron microscope that the true artistry of nanomaterials synthesis became apparent (look them up!) These tiny nanostructures, have myriad applications from drug delivery vectors to photo-acoustic contrast agents, and creating them served as a foundational cornerstone for my early technical professional education. In my role at Nanohybrids, I worked on scaling up manufacturing processes and optimizing the synthesis of primary product lines, ensuring quality and reproducibility at every step. I developed early-stage production roadmaps that enhanced my understanding of regulatory pathways and scalable manufacturing strategies. Additionally, I managed collaborative projects across multiple organizations. My contributions extended beyond technical R&D, as I helped grow the company’s knowledge base through technical publications, proprietary protocol development, and effective communication strategies. Nanohybrids was where I learned to combine creativity and precision, whether it was in the synthesis of nanoparticles or the execution of cross-functional projects. The lessons I gained in craftsmanship, regulatory insight, and operational excellence have remained integral to my professional identity and continue to inspire my approach to solving complex challenges.
