Part of the production pipeline for this scientific research journal publisher, an Elsevier company, I edit manuscripts for spelling, grammar, usage, style, consistency, and clarity according to our in-house style guide. I also evaluate references, format documents, query authors, and will be contributing to Cell Press's pop science blog, CrossTalk.

As an academic advisor, I was the primary point of contact between the university and nearly 300 online students pursuing graduate degrees in Accounting, Finance and Applied Economics. Many of my students worked full-time jobs, so I helped them with time management, registration, long-term planning, and connecting them to other services. In this role, I became an expert in learning management systems, the online student experience, and re-enroll admission processes.

The Ledger-Transcript covers 16 town in Southern New Hampshire. I lead the beat for six towns and two school districts, writing stories about local government, education, sports, arts, business, breaking news and daily living. I wrote one or more stories about Franklin Pierce University, the Wilton-Lyndeborough school district, Mascenic Region school district, Mason school district, ConVal school district, and Jaffrey-Rindge school district. Additionally, I was tasked with leading the paper's experimentation with graphics, particularly maps, and writing copy for special sections, captions, and Facebook posts.

I trained a group of nearly 50 boys in grades 6 through 8 in the events of track and field, managed volunteers, co-coordinated meets, and acted as liaison between the program and the school's administration, all as the lone boys coach.

Report on festival news, acquisitions, casting announcements and the like, develop and participate in listicles, conduct filmmaker and celebrity interviews for video and transcription, cover red carpets and other relevant events, in addition to pitching and writing entertaining features for web publication. I served as short-term substitute teacher in elite private day school in Nashua, New Hampshire. I stepped in to supervise classes in a variety of subjects including ethics, government, business, religion, algebra, biology and more.

As an intern with my U.S. Senator, I had administrative responsibilities including constituent relations, assembling morning news briefing and compiling daily press clips regarding the senator and our state, drafting Tweets and letters, and general support of the legislative staff.

After six weeks of training, I would schedule one-on-one tutoring with students struggling at any stage of the writing process, using AP, MLA, Chicao, APA or other appropriate style. I helped them with, mostly, academic work, with other types of writing (cover letters, grant applications, personal essays) mixed in. We focus on the writer, not the assignment, hoping to teach him to fish, as it were. Also helped run a seminar on writing for social media and presented research on how teachers can prepare students to write about visual images.
