Administer BLS treatment and life-support care to sick or injured persons in the prehospital setting. Operate equipment such as lifepak 12 or AED and bag-valve mask resuscitators in ALS environments. Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures. Maintain vehicles and medical and communication equipment. Observe, record, and report to physician the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs and treatment. Perform emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures, such as airway management and vital sign monitoring. Comfort and reassure patients. Coordinate work with other emergency medical team members, police and fire. Communicate with dispatchers and treatment center personnel.
