Administered seven member purchasing department responsible for supplier quality, cost saving and scheduling activities at five locations including Australia, with a reduction in departmental budget of 20%. Total responsibility of over $60 million annual spend, including $36 million of raw materials in support of production, managing over 350 approved suppliers with over 1000 custom parts under medical specifications and FDA regulations. Realized $800,000 in new annual savings while identifying over $1.5 million in cost savings projects. Outlined and supported implementation of JIT manufacturing (Demand Flow Technology) for Purchasing; served as a key member of R&D project team for major product line development and launch. Conducted multiple user training classes for launch of Oracle 11i system.

Responsible for ISO, cGMP, and UCC compliance, created and managed audit schedules, procedures, approved supplier files and supplier tracking matrix. Procured over $20 million in non-direct annual expenditures in support of Marketing, R&D, Administration and Operations, in pursuance of corporate goals.

Manage the strategic global purchasing of $140 million in annual petrochemical raw material requirements supporting 14 manufacturing facilities for this leading provider of innovative bonding and surfacing solutions for building and construction, engineered materials, agricultural and natural resource markets.

Primary charter is to commoditize and systemize purchasing functions to increase reach and impact of purchasing department by reducing non-value added activity. Responsibilities include Indirect/MRO purchasing, inventory purchasing of printers and cables and technical buying, Oracle project representative/SME for purchasing and supply planning, managing EOL/Asset recovery operations, and special projects. Negotiated aggressive corporate-wide office supply contact with a five figure conversion bonus and annual rebates. Implemented a consignment program for obsolete/EOL materials, tracking a 42% return since implementation (doubling target return of 20%), reducing $500k in EOL inventory. Oracle launched successfully, early metrics include an annualized 30% increase in Purchase Order volume without increasing resources.

Managed $14 million annual spend for multiple locations, encompassing over 300 raw and finished items with more than 60 suppliers. Negotiated cost savings in excess of $3.3 million with suppliers, generating a total annualized savings of over $1 million in a single year (repeatable), with an additional $4.6 million in cost avoidance. Through supplier and inventory management, realized a total increase in inventory turns of over 400%, from an average of 14 to 60 turns on a $14 million annual spend.
