Working in the European Energy Division leading projects for new vessel financings and portfolio management of existing finance structures for NYK and joint ventures.

Established this venture in 2012 to work with non-traditional shipping investors, such as institutions, funds and family offices, to establish a marine platform and/or fund for their entry into the sector. We are also involved in the development of alternative equity and credit markets for deep sea ships and offshore support vessels, including in the renewable energy sector. We advise companies in the maritime sector on capital raising via debt, equity and leasing structures, joint ventures, strategic investments and M&A. The company is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

Interim CFO position raising capital for the development of 3 licenced floating offshore wind farms.

Investor since 2005 and Director since 2008 of this small ticket asset finance and leasing company. SHF was quoted on the UK Plus market until 2011. The company was subsequently renamed as Acre Equity Investments and focused its activity on small venture capital investments in the FinTech sector.

Co-founded and managed the structured finance business. Managed both shipbroking and finance businesses at Board level; sourced, structured and negotiated acquisition and charter of vessels and corporate advisory mandates; raised debt finance and equity via private placement; developed financial models for investment analysis.

Acquired a fleet of 13 vessels with long period charters using a 3rd party public equity source and a $250m debt facility raised from a syndicate of international banks. Sourced and negotiated the transactions, raised/syndicated the debt finance, optimised the investment structure and developed the investment analysis model.

Arranged excess $1billion of new-building finance via a structured leasing model for 12 x Container Ships, 6 x Mullti-Purpose Vessels, 2 x Offshore Support Vessels, 2 x Capesize Bulk Carriers and 1 x Chemical Tanker for shipping companies in W. Europe and SE Asia. Established and ran a joint-venture shipping company in the UK with S.E. Asian partners to operate 16 vessels on time-charter.

Responsible for structuring and arranging cross border tax-advantaged lease transactions for aircraft, bus fleets, telecom, power and paper manufacturing equipment. Primarily sourced German, Swedish and US investors for transactions arranged with Asian counterparts (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea).

Raised finance for new aircraft acquisitions for British Airways, American Airlines, Delta Airlines and Malaysian Airlines from shareholder and other European banks. Responsible for deal structuring, syndication and negotiating loan documentation.

Financial analysis of various domestic and cross border tax-advantaged leasing structures. Jurisdictions included UK, US, France, Germany, Sweden and Japan. Arranged long term JPY/USD currency hedging instruments on behalf of clients. Assets financed included vessels (Maersk), aircraft (American Airlines, Aer Lingus, SAS, Gulf Air, Czech Airlines, Air Europe, KLM, BMI, BAe, Air UK), water treatment plants and manufacturing equipment.
