I have over 20 years of financial, performance and internal audit experience both within commercial and government sectors. Currently working for the Department of Communities as the Chief Audit Executive with a varied early career including 14+ years of military service and time spent working in the construction industry. My audit experience stretches from a big 4 accounting firm through to various State Government entities including an international assignment in Canada working for to the Office of the Auditor General in British Columbia. In conjunction with my audit responsibilities, I have been responsible for: • Managing the Operations Cell within the 2020 COVID 19 Pandemic response for the Department of Justice. • Project managed during 2023 the purchase, delivery, and coordination of short to midterm accommodation for affected aboriginal communities in Fitzroy Crossing, during the 2023 Kimberly Floods for the Department of Communities. • Currently coordinating and reporting on elements of the Department of Communities, Public Sector Reform, as part of the Program Team, for the transition of critical services to the Department of Housing and Works. I am a values and outcomes driven professional; applying strategic thinking with a commitment to delivering effective, pragmatic outcomes; with strong collaborative skills and leadership focus, able to inspire a sense of purpose amongst others. I am also not afraid to step outside of my comfort zone when required. Additionally, I have a strong analytical background and a commitment to using evidence-based industry and best practice in all work functions. Now working as both a trusted advisor and audit professional for over 20 years, reporting directly to Internal Audit Committees of both large corporate and government organisations has seen me develop an acute awareness of what a board needs to be aware from a risk perspective.
