Prepare daily, weekly, monthly RT/DA wholesale electricity price forecasts, applying market knowledge and proprietary modeling software to predict energy prices. Communicate with asset managers and energy traders daily, providing market insight on short/long term energy prices, transmission risks, and trading strategies. Clients include but not limited to Morgan Stanley, Starwood Capital, Leeward Energy. Help clients build and optimize asset and trading portfolio; advise renewable generators on policy/technology/market rules and revenues for PPA drafting with basis risk analysis support. Conduct long term grid and infrastructure development study including incoming additions/retirement and transmission upgrade. Conduct weekly monthly & quarterly outlooks giving insight into mid-term and long-term price expectations and market trends. Use Powerworld/Simulator 22/23 with line outages published by PJM to check potential constraints on a daily, monthly and seasonal basis. Work with NYISO and MISO teams forecasting the power im/exports and potential congestion between ISOs. Work with model developing team to modify and maintain SEER model by using linear regression. Collaborate with gas team, monitoring gas delivery and potential risks that could drive gas price volatility impacting the operation of power plants and power price. Support investment and consulting team with firsthand power market data and the analysis of the existing and future transmission infrastructure development in PJM to build cash flow models. Produced quarterly and monthly FTR and PJM outlook reports that provide clients with insight and risk within long-term congestion patterns, transmission upgrades, and an understanding of potential updates and new builds to the market that could affect day-to-day fundamentals.
