During this period I held several senior posts with Transport Scotland including Network Manager responsible for the Management of South West Trunk Road Unit and from 2006 Head of Projects Branch responsible for the management of the structural maintenance and improvement programmes and all discrete construction schemes between £0.5m to £5m managed by by the Directorate. I was responsible for the management of the DBFO projects that had reached the O&M stage - M74(A74M) and M77/GSO Schemes. I was also a member of the procurement and preparation team for the 4th Generation Trunk Road maintenance contracts during their development from 2008 onwards.

I am currently employed at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff , Edinburgh, as a senior member of the Infrastructure team operating as a consultant and project advisor on infrastructure projects and bidding opportunities in the strategic roads sector. Assignments include developing aspects of bid submissions for projects such as A9 Dualling project, and several Highways England tendering opportunities such as preparation of aspects of the Collaborative Delivery Framework opportunity and other Highways England project specific oportunities. During this period I managed the delivery of project advisory work under the Highways Agency Framework Commission (TEAR) for technical and advisory input to the development of their Route Based Strategies working for the Midlands and Programme Office, and contributed to the development and updating of Highways England Guide to Route Treatments and Route Treatment Toolkit.
