Arctic Mass Balance Program Assistant
Axel Heiberg Island
This role involved working with a small team to conduct the annual mass balance program for White Glacier on Axel Heiberg Island. White Glacier is one of the largest continually monitored glaciers in North America, making this program an invaluable source of data. Working out of the McGill Arctic Research Station (MARS), the glacier team uses skidoos to traverse the landscape and carry all required scientific gear.

Arctic Environmental Monitoring Research Assistant
Kingston, ON
Assisted in conducting a hydrological study for the Wolf River Basin on Axel Heiberg Island. Hydrological research is relatively new to this area meaning that significant problem solving and innovation was required to work through the challenges of setting up a new study in an incredibly dynamic and rugged environment.

Wildland Firefighter
Peace River, Alberta, Canada
As a Wildland Firefighter, I worked with an eight person crew to conduct wildfire suppression and control using various tools and techniques. Our crews work together with air tankers and heavy machinery to minimize the damages done to the environment and human well-being. The hazardous nature of this job requires that every crew member be responsible for accurately following safety protocols; particularly when responding to urgent situations.

Equestrian Instructor and Groom
Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada
As an Equestrian Instructor, I teach young riders how to handle, care for, and ride horses safely and confidently. Additionally, I collaborate with national and international competitors across Canada to care for horses and keep them in optimal condition for competition.
