present: Assistant Active (Transmission) field Technician – Northern Engineering works company  Main duties include clearing of active alarms so that the installed transmission equipment are being fully utilized. Common faults include: -Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) alarms caused by loose jumper connections between the RF Modules and the GSM antennas, presence of water or moisture in the RF-Jumpers as well as other many factors and results in some cells to be degraded and work on lower percentages as compared to the required 100%  No connection to unit alarms where by the system module (BTS) and the RF modules have lost their connectivity due to different factors such as fiber cable break between the two modules, ports not working due to moisture inside it or faulty SFPs, power failure on the RF modules, etcetera  Failure in the transmission cable( LAN cable) between the BTS and the ATNs or the indoor units  Faulty BTS ,RF module, Radio, antenna replacement Other duties include: - Nokia’s BTS software upgrades for example upgrading to the latest SBTS20B, SRAN 20C. - Logging in into the BTS to see if all the sectors and TRXs are up and running and carrying traffic - backing up System Configuration Files (SCF) for all the sites across the country to be used later on when a particular site has a damaged SCF - Making sure that all the technologies (2G, 3G and 4G) are up and running, this is done by checking the technologies in all their frequency bands for example making sure that RF modules like FXDB,FXDA,FXDD are carrying 2G-(G900) and 3G-(U900) FRGX,FRGT are carrying 3G-(G2100), FXED is carrying 2G-(D1800) and 4G-(+1800)

Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer - Northern Engineering works Limited Working towards the achievement of almost 100% Radio Network Availability through monitoring the performance of the network, alarm handling and troubleshooting as well as timely reporting of alarms and timely escalations for timely resolution of faults Duties and Responsibilities a. Network management  Monitoring and checking system performance  Checking network visibility for Microwave links b. Network analysis  Daily outage report analysis  Producing daily shift report (Radio Availability report,TCH report)  Checking blocked sectors, TRXs and alarms in all the BSCs  Pulling alarms from all the BSCs and create pivot tables using Microsoft excel for easy analysis c. Fault management  Reporting on power outages to technicians and follow a proper escalation matrix d. Mobile Packet Backbone Network (MPBN) Management  Monitoring Internet Service Provider (ISP) links  Monitor routers and switches e. Trouble ticket management  Timely opening of trouble ticket when the fault has occurred  Keeping track of the ground fault restoration team for proper closing of the trouble ticket task  Closing the trouble tickets once field team has pushed in information
