First elected in November 2016 in a by-election to Horsham District Council serving over 140,000 people. I was successfully re-elected in the local elections of May 2019. Representing over 10,000 people in my local ward of Southwater, to Horsham District Council. I work with residents to improve local services and ensure their voice is heard often liaising with stakeholders, including council officers to address community issues, such as housing, anti-social behaviour, schools and infrastructure. I have a particular interest in working for the most vulnerable and also young people and write letters to support constituents whilst facilitating meetings between the public and representatives of the council. Furthermore I also chair local community group meetings and holding regular public ‘drop ins’. I also vote on key political decisions and produce promotional literature, being active on social media and keeping up-to-date with correspondence via telephone, letters, online and also in person.
