I was a member of a small team of systems engineers who designed and wrote the mission control operating system for the Pioneer 10/11 space crafts. My major areas of responsibility were monitoring the real time telemetry data received via the Deep Space Network and the processing and display of real time images. The software was written in assembly language.

* Here I wrote the first IMAP client and server that ran connected and disconnected * Invented and with a team developed the SIMS message stores and received 4 patents and the president's award for these efforts * Led Sun's WAP Forum team to move WAP to pure Internet protocols * Developed and invented the iPlanet Wireless Service along with writing a WAP email service for SFR-CEGETEL * Was CTO of project JXTA, received 16 patents and wrote the JXTA, Java based security code * And met with the IETF in 2002 along with Jeff Altman to create an IRTF P2P working group which I lead for two years.
