Bill Tannen

Beginning in New York City at BBD&O advertising, Bill created the "Girl Watchers"​ theme/campaign by Sid Ramin for Diet Pepsi which won 4 Clio's. It became a hit record covered by producer Bob Crewe of The Four Seasons, Andy Williams, Al Hirt, Herb Albert and dozens of major artists. He opened Sunday Productions in New York to produce and direct television commercials. His 1st independent film, a short subject titled "Eulogy for R.F.K."​ screened at the New York Film Festival with "Battle of Algiers"​ & was released theatrically by Grove Press. Still playing on YouTube! Moving to Los Angeles he directed award-winning commercials winning several Clio's. Bill directed the first ever million dollar television commercial production for the new soft drink, Diet Coke. In 1984 Bill directed his first feature film, the political thriller "Flashpoint"​ for TriStar and HBO and has directed and produced ten other films starring Kris Kristofferson, Faye Dunaway, Rip Torn, Michael Madsen, Chuck Norris, Treat Williams,Tess Harper, Jean Smart, Paul Rhys, Wayne Rogers, Nick Mancuso, Margot Kidder, Brynn Thayer, Joan Collins, Billy Dee Williams, Roy Scheider, Sonia Braga and others. He has also directed several television series'​, a special with Charlie Rose and music videos winning a Grammy for conceiving and directing the Commodore's music video "Night Shift"​. Also worked with The Temptations, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, The Turtles, Martha & The Vandellas, Tangerine Dream and others. Bill was invited to teach a series of advanced Directing Workshops at the Eicar International Film School in Paris for a Master's Class and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Class. He has been invited to return several times.
