Bilal Ahmad

General Counsel for I SAW IT FIRST and MISSGUIDED, part of the Frasers Group PLC.

I was part of the national Commercial and Intellectual Property team at Fieldfisher. I worked on a number of commercial contract matters, with a particular emphasis on franchising, branding and licensing related commercial work for internationally renowned brands in the fashion and retail sectors.

Secondment as in-house counsel at Aurora Fashions Group, providing legal support and advice to the board of directors and senior management. My work focused on the Oasis and Warehouse brands, overseeing the management of their international franchise, wholesale and distribution network, as well as wider marketing and trading activities.

I joined the Commercial and Intellectual Property team as a newly qualified solicitor. I was working closely with a partner in the team, drafting commercial contracts and providing advice to a number of SME clients. I gained experience in drafting commercial contracts including supply of goods, supply of services, e-commerce terms and conditions, consumer trading terms and conditions, cross-border distribution agreements, outsourcing agreements and data processing agreements.

I completed my training contract with Irwin Mitchell in their BLS (Business Legal Services) Division. As a trainee solicitor, I completed the following seats: - Real Estate - Banking and Finance - Commercial Litigation - Pensions

I joined the Boohoo Group following its recent AIM listing as an in-house paralegal providing direct support to the General Counsel and Head of Legal. I supported the General Counsel across all company secretarial and compliance matters, working with a number of trusted advisors. I supported the Head of Leagl across all commercial and trading activities including marketing campaigns, licensing, promotional activity and compliance with consumer protection legislation.
