About
I am an engineering scientist and medical device innovator with over a decade of experience developing transformative, non-invasive energy-based therapies for cancer and implant-associated infections. Currently serving as Director of R&D at Solenic Medical, Inc., I lead research and development efforts driven by in silico modeling and simulation, advancing next-generation medical technologies from early concept through clinical translation. My expertise spans computational modeling, verification & validation, system design, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I was a key contributor to the development of Neothermos, a hyperthermia cancer treatment device now in clinical use across South Korea. I led the development of patient-specific anatomical models and tissue-mimicking phantoms, which played a critical role in supporting regulatory submissions and clinical adoption. At Solenic Medical, I co-invented a novel Alternating Magnetic Field (AMF) device designed to eradicate bacterial biofilm from metallic implants, a promising solution for prosthetic joint infections (PJI). During my term as Director of R&D, this technology progressed from early-stage development to receiving FDA clearance for an early feasibility clinical trial, a major step forward in non-invasive infection treatment and implant salvage. As an R&D leader, I am passionate about translating complex engineering innovations into practical, high-impact clinical solutions. I work closely with clinicians, researchers, and regulatory teams to deliver technologies that are not only cutting-edge but also clinically viable, scalable, and patient-centered.
