Conceived and supervised the restoration of a rundown 19th century commercial/residential property purchased as an investment and to house a small business. The building as restored received Landmarks Status from the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. The structure consisted of two upper residential floors and a commercial first floor. It's final use was two upscale apartments and a shop, MADE BY HAND, that offered for sale handcrafted items, e.g. sterling silver jewelry, woven rugs, baskets, handthrown pottery, etc., made almost exclusively by individual American artisans.

NJCC is the public policy arm of the New Jersey Catholic Bishops. Through its several departments, it represents the positions taken by the Bishops on legislation and administrative rulings by the state government of New Jersey. Activities include lobbying legislators and administration, testifying, conducting eduation campaigns among the broader public as well as the Catholic constitutency, advising the Bishops on policy proposals.

The NCEC raised campaign funds for liberal candidates for the United States Senate and House of Represenatives. The fund raising took the form of direct solicitation by mail and social events with figures like Eleanor Roosevelt and Dore Schary, the playwright. Individual people were courted for larger contributions. Participated in planning events and keeping records of contributions. Temporary position post graduate school and prior to permanent position. In Washington, D.C., the emphasis was principally on lobbying Senators and Representatives.

Initiated, planned and developed courses and seminars for off-campus sites and non-traditional populations, e.g. senior citizens and persons not interested in full time enrollment in a junior college program. Locations, course content and presentors (both faculty and non-academic experts) were managed.

Administered courses and seminars for New Jersey City Clerks and Tax Assessors as well as County Boards of Taxation members. Completion of courses, followed by a State exam, was required for certification in the positions of city clerk and tax assessor. Scheduled, advertised and managed courses including materials and faculty. Editor of the New Jersey City Clerk's Manual.

A federal grant funded study of the management and disposition of cases of children in foster care. A sample of cases from across the state were read and coded. The subsequent data was analyzed with the intent to evaluate the efficacy of services received by foster children and how quickly they received permanent placement. Research led to creation of Foster Care Review Board.

Interviewed applicants for social security and disability benefits. Adjudicated claims.
