This role required me to perform various tasks such as developing tools, frameworks, and templates for data collection, and overseeing field-based carbon stock assessment. capacity building- REDD+, VCS/CCB Methodologies, Validation & Certification Processes, project-level greenhouse gas(GHG) accounting, Forest Inventories GHG accounting, drafting project monitoring reports and project documents in conformance with VCS/CCB standards, and conducting environmental monitoring and modeling including analyzing land use and land cover changes. Additionally, the role required the application of spatial analysis in VCS/CCB methodologies and delivering project third-party project verifications. Last but not least the role also required that I assist with the Carbon project's pre-viability and feasibility assessments.

The Forest Monitoring Coordinator (FMC) role key responsibilities were; CARBON >Assist with Forest Inventory Design and Implementation. >Authoring of forest inventory electronic Data collection tools (ODK form in Excel, Kobo Tool Box) >Oversee field-based vegetation assessments and monitoring to support REDD+ projects verification >Standardize forest inventory and GIS data collection methodologies. >Train and supervise forest inventory teams in forest carbon stock assessments GIS/RS >Sourcing of Spatial Data/ Generating Spatial Data >Gather and analyze freely available remote sensing data. >Generate internal and external cartographic products and presentations. >Oversee the collection and analysis of Geospatial and forest data. >Assist the GIS/RS manager in updating and maintaining BCP’s geospatial database. BIODIVERSITY MONITORING >Designing Configurable Data Models - Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool (SMART) >Assisting with preparing SMART Reports >Providing SMART/Connect technical support/Troubleshooting to Field Teams. >Providing Training to SMART Data Managers and Data collectors >Managing SMART Database

In this role, I built the Capacity of 16 community-based organizations in Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) for a USAID-funded Community Forests Project.

Contributed to the mobilization/engagement of 12 communities/chiefdoms and their respective traditional leadership to put aside close to 1 million ha of community forests under REDD+ for a USAID-funded Community Forests Program (CFP).
