Provide administration and management of Email Security Gateway Maintenance and administration of servers, Assist in the update of the IT Business Continuity Plan, monitoring and maintenance of the Data replication to DR. Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Ethernet and voice networks, network cabling, other related equipment and systems. Ensuring firewalls and network equipment are configured correctly and that they have the updated firmware installed at any given time. Liaise with the ISP’s to ensure that the internet and WAN Connections are up and running at all times. Developing and maintaining a software and hardware maintenance and repair guidelines. Liaise with the vendors for resource maintenance in line with such approved guidelines. Maintaining an up to date asset register of all PC’s, Servers and Software Licenses. Ensure compliance at all times on all licensing issues. Assisting in the identification of key expense drivers in the department and the control of departmental costs within approved budget targets.

User support – deployment of client applications to users, configuration and repair of ICT equipment, Logging of support calls and maintenance of IT assets database. ICT capacity building for staff – Provide training and reference manuals to staff to ensure staff are well equipped to handle changing ICT technologies, educating them on basic troubleshooting and resolving ICT issues. Information and data security – Enforce telecommunications/security policies and standards as outlined by the organizations ICT policy backing up server data and synchronizing user data with the server. WVS ICT Strategy – Provide technical advice to the ICT manager in decision relating to the strategic use and implementation of ICT infrastructure and ICT4D initiatives, Make recommendations to the ICT Manager on the acquisition of new technologies for the NO and field sites and the deployment of existing ones. Support and maintenance of Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure, designing and setting up of network infrastructure, configuring Routers, switches, Cyberoam and ASA Firewalls, administration and monitoring of network to ensure optimization, security and maximum uptime, Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and interpreting user and Organization strategy to match the proposed ICT solutions

Administration and Maintenance of in-house developed Inventory control and slots system developed using File maker Pro System administration utilizing Filemaker server: Uploading and removing databases files, scheduling database backups, monitoring live databases files. User support and training, LAN setup, maintenance and troubleshooting connectivity and resolving connectivity problems. Computer systems configuration, maintenance and repair Installation of windows 2008 and 2003 server platform, file maker Pro and File maker Server application programs Windows Operating Systems and Application Programs.

Hardware and Software Support -Installing, configuring and upgrading desktops and laptop computers and software (Windows NT/XP/2000/2003, MS Office etc) Managing a suitable computer hardware spares and an inventory of all computer accessories Oversee virus protection updates using McAfee and Kaspersky and other Antivirus, following up on hardware and software warranties, log files, licenses and inventories. Facilitate ICT skills building for staff based at the office to increase their competence in use of ICT productivity tools such Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and any new software that were introduced. Ensure Information and Data Security of the user data, ICT systems and resources by doing anti-virus installations, regular data backup and enforcing laid down ICT security policies. Setting up wireless networks, and configuring user machines to access the network. User support at the IT helpdesk. Troubleshooting: Repair and maintenance of faulty machines.
