About
Engineering has been woven into the fabric of my personality since elementary school; I’d wake up early just to solve sudoku puzzles before breakfast. The progression continued through high school where I experimented with more complex projects like rigging a two-stroke motor to a chopper-style bicycle. While my skillset improved, my passion was constant. Deciding to further my education in engineering was an easy choice. Mechanical engineering is a broad major and provides limitless options. Throughout my years in school, I was enthralled by topics like heat transfer, thermodynamics and design that made me confident I chose the right major. I applied these topics to my senior year capstone project, collaborating with four others to design a solar thermal maple syrup evaporator (tasty!). It was exciting to be able to work in a group and figure out how to break up a problem, bring our individualistic solutions together and create something tangible. After recently graduating from the University of Maine, I took a leap and moved to Utah. Utah is a haven for both skiers and engineers – yet again, the choice was easy.
