Ben Bruno Nkapbela

Le Prince du Mbouda, Ben Bruno Nkapbela, was born in America yet carries the ancestral responsibility of the royal family of the Bamiléké people. As the only son of the Mafouo of the Longmene clan, he stands at the intersection of two worlds: one rooted in the traditions of Cameroon while another was forged in the laboratories and universities of the United States. A multidisciplinary scientist, entrepreneur, and trained laboratory instrument/data engineer, the Prince has built a career defined by innovation and purpose. He co-created Pennsylvania’s first Cannabis Chemistry Bachelor’s program, helped establish one of the state’s earliest Cannabis testing laboratories, and holds a B.S. in Biology from York College of Pennsylvania and an M.S. in Textile Technology from Thomas Jefferson University. His work spans biotechnology, materials science, and data-driven laboratory management, with a focus on building systems that merge scientific rigor with practical application. From setting up advanced laboratories at one of America’s first Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, to developing standardized testing methods for a rapidly growing cannabis sector his research has helped pioneer the industry; winning multiple awards and presenting at conferences all around the world. Beyond science, the Prince is deeply committed to cultural preservation, education, and mentorship. He has taught and guided students in laboratory and classroom settings, designed workshops on cannabis science and compliance, and carried forward a vision of science as a tool for empowerment. Looking ahead, Le Prince du Mbouda seeks to become Cameroon’s next Minister of Culture and Technology. His mission is to unite ancestral heritage with modern innovation, creating a future where cultural identity, sustainable biotechnology, and advanced manufacturing form the foundation of a sovereign and prosperous Africa.
