Responsible to oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of IT Infrastructure operation and maintenance, ensuring that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. Area: Project Delivery • Ensure that all new technologies and services align with Group IT, business strategic principles and policy guidelines • Provide technical recommendations on the selection of infrastructure, platforms, and related technologies. • Analyzes IT industry trends making recommendations regarding the relative impact to current and future enterprise infrastructure needs. • Responsible for the sizing of new systems and propose adequate hardware specification for optimum performance of the system for the foreseeable future. • Evaluate and integrate infrastructure solutions into the overall organization, as determined by business, regulatory and market demands. Area: IT strategy / policy statements. • Participate in drawing up the company’s ICT strategy in collaboration with the responsible group IT • Define the company’s ICT hardware policy in line with Castel Group standards. • Ensure conformance to ICT hardware policy. • Source for Group IT policies and adapt for local environment. Area: Operation and Maintenance of IT Infrastructure • Responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure operations and related performance management. • Achieve and improve performance and operational excellence. • Prepare and maintain the operating and capital budgets for IT Infrastructure and identify cost reduction opportunities. • Drive operational efficiencies that improve profitability and customer satisfaction. • Focus on continuous process improvement and staff satisfaction by increasing IT’s value through innovation and emerging technologies. • Produce metrics showing operational compliance with best practices. • Ensure integration between the team and other IT section members and build the teamwork spirit. • Develop, manage, and maintain all BGI Ethiopia data centers

• Maintain and optimize local company networks and servers • Oversee data backup and system security operations (user authorization, firewalls) • Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software • Assess system performance and recommend improvements • Resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers • Ensure data is handled, transferred or processed according to legal and company guidelines • Control costs and budgets regarding IT systems • Manage contracts with vendors ( development platforms, telecommunication companies, password managers) and software licenses • Develop IT policies and practices • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant & Formulate strategic and operational objectives • Manage budgets and forecasts and Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs • Recruit, train and supervise staff • Find ways to increase quality of customer service • Supervise and direct the operations of software developers and programmers • Manage and maintain networking and telecommunication systems to ensure quick access to information • Protect business networks against attacks from outside sources • Set up remote network access for users using virtual private networking techniques or two-factor authentication • Monitor network performance to notify networking engineers of network resource issues • Set up and configure servers for the management of applications and IT systems • Ensure all applications have access to disk storage, backup and archiving • Oversee the installation, configuration and management of applications on company approved devices • Conduct internal audits to verify the security and efficiency of an organization’s network • Perform periodic backup of information and data to ensure recovery in event of system breakdown.

• Administering & designing LANs, WAN internet/intranet networks. • Implements install, configures, monitor and troubleshoots Network Devices. • Managing Active Directory users and computers related operations. • Planning and organizing proactive and responsive system maintenance in cooperation with or without designated third-party support provider. • Manage and Monitor Service desk system according to service level agreement . • Provides support to site-managed technical staff regarding Network administration and usage. • Manages the Data Center and computer host systems including hardware, software, and equipment such as air-conditioning system, UPS and fire protection system. • Cisco Wireless controller and Aironet AP Configuration. • Cisco Router, Switch and ASA with Firepower, FirePOWER Management System configuration. • Perform a day today system and network monitoring and reporting using different monitoring tool like (The Dude, Manage-engine Op-Manager Monitoring and PRTG Network Monitor tools).  Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need t o be made.  Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving network problems. • Configurin g and Administering Cisco Unified Communication Systems. • The quality and high availability of the internet, VPN and network connectivity, telecommunications within all BGI Ethiopia premises. • Propose and improve architecture, Installation, configuration, upgrade, and migration of IT systems and network. • Proactive and reactive problem management t, incident management and second level support • The organization’s business efficiency by p providing different dashboard reports. • The day-to-day and real-time monitoring and follow-u p of email, internet, and all IT applications Provide all required IT service to end users and respective stakeholder.

Proficient in teaching a wide range of IT subjects, including Levels 1 to L4. Successfully prepare IT students for COC certification exams, ensuring their readiness for professional advancement. Extensive expertise in computer hardware, providing comprehensive instruction on installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Instruct and educate students on Microsoft Windows Server systems, specializing in Active Directory, DNS, GPO, DHCP, and more.

Deliver exceptional problem-solving services to network users, promptly addressing and resolving their technical issues.
