As a Procurement Manager in the New Product Sourcing team, I represent Global Product Procurement in NPI programs, driving strategic sourcing decisions to support program success. My responsibilities include identifying high-risk components through MRA assessments, proposing alternatives, and collaborating with the core team to assess and mitigate risks, ensuring well-informed, collective decisions. In addition to risk management, I provide product cost analysis by performing direct material cost roll-ups, enabling the engineering team to benchmark and study product costs effectively. I also work closely with the supply chain team to ensure material readiness and serve as the key escalation point for supplier-related issues, supporting seamless program execution.

In the Product Manager role, I collaborated with Solution Planning, R&D, and Business Development to define and launch innovative product solutions for the educational market. I successfully managed the product life cycle, from pricing and solution configuration to creating and executing launch strategies—delivering two NPI launches within six months despite a steep learning curve in marketing. To empower field sales and channel partners, I developed key collaterals, sales tools, recorded training courses, and conducted live training sessions, ensuring mastery of value propositions, product benefits, and target applications. Working closely with engineering, sales, and support teams, I found immense satisfaction in driving shared goals, achieving revenue targets, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

Moving to a leadership role, I managed and coached a team supporting mechanical commodities sourcing for key Solution NPI projects across diverse global business groups. Acting as a liaison between internal teams and suppliers, my team resolved engineering-related materials and sourcing challenges with a customer-first approach to ensure timely project delivery. I led initiatives like the 5G Over-The-Air (OTA) chamber localization project, driving long-term material strategies and short-term operational execution within local supply chains to support cutting-edge test and measurement solutions. I also focused on supplier development to improve quality and lead times, while driving cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders. In partnership with global commodities managers and NPI engineering teams, I explored market trends, evaluated new technologies, and conducted annual supplier performance assessments to align with business objectives.

Being an NPI materials engineer, I provided technical consultation to design and manufacturing teams, actively influencing product design and ensuring manufacturability. My responsibilities included Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) research, quality improvement, material specification, supply chain analysis, and qualification of materials to enhance product reliability, manufacturability, and supply assurance for new product introductions. I collaborated with procurement teams to source and qualify vendors, prioritizing quality, cost efficiency, and delivery reliability. Working closely with cross-functional teams—R&D, procurement, and manufacturing engineering—I supported the seamless transition of products from prototype to full production, ensuring readiness for handoff to sustaining teams.

At Agilent, I served as the project focal point for coordinating and leading materials sourcing efforts for mechanical parts across multiple NPI projects globally. Acting as a single point of contact, I ensured alignment between suppliers and project requirements, driving quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability. I collaborated with suppliers to define and oversee their manufacturing processes, holding them accountable for meeting design and business growth objectives. I also identified and qualified alternative materials to optimize supply chains and support scalability. As part of the NPI project team, I facilitated the seamless transition of products from prototype to full production, managing the development lifecycle before handing off to the sustaining commodity team.

I began my career as an R&D Mechanical Engineer, responsible for designing and developing new products, focusing on mechanical parts and assemblies. Beyond design, I collaborated with vendors and suppliers to translate concepts into prototypes and final products. Partnering with the quality and reliability team, I conducted engineering tests and validations to ensure compliance with national and international standards. Over six years, I progressed to a Senior Engineer role, leading a band-split development project to enhance product specifications. I was also appointed as task lead for an Event-Driven Cost Reduction initiative, driving efficiencies and innovation across the product line.
