About
I was drawn to tech because I love iterative processes and making things better. Early on, there was something addictive about watching tests go from red to green as I worked through a problem step by step. Years later, that instinct still drives my work—whether I’m improving web performance, refining product architecture, or shaping how teams build together. Before software, I studied music education and worked in fine arts education, which still shapes how I think about systems, learning, and communication. My technical focus is React, web performance, and data visualization, with experience across Ruby, Java, Node.js, and backend systems. I’ve been a primary maintainer of Victory, Formidable’s React + d3 charting library, and I enjoy explaining complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences—often with the help of a good Miro diagram.

Senior Software Engineer II
Seattle, Washington, United States
I worked with the User Experience Engineering team, a front-end platform team that is working to improve the user experience of the ThousandEyes product. This work included documenting and maintaining the design system component library and making platform-wide design and accessibility improvements.

Software Engineer VI
Seattle, Washington, United States
As a senior software engineer and manager, I have been focused on both hands-on development and team leadership. First, I worked with a major tech company to build a performance-optimized component framework based in Preact and web components. Most recently, I have been leading an initiative at a large e-commerce company to improve the load-time performance and maintainability of their product page. I currently spend the majority of my time communicating with technical leaders and stakeholders, identifying areas for technical and performance improvement, writing tickets and documentation, and helping the team to level up technically. I am a huge advocate for web performance, and I make great miro boards.

The Mom Project is a startup that helps women find flexible work opportunities. I worked on a small team that was starting to take ownership of a Rails and React legacy codebase. I worked on new features and bug-fixes, and developed a JavaScript style guide to help the team standardize our React code.

Lead Software Crafter

I worked as a software consultant, working with many different teams to develop new products or work on existing legacy codebases. Most of my work was focused on front-end development using Angular and React, with occasional work in various other full-stack frameworks. As a consultant, I was responsible for building relationships with clients and participating in product development. In addition to my technical work, I mentored an apprentice throughout most of 2018, and was a PDM (Professional Development Manager) for three junior-level developers. I was also a chair of the Diversity, Culture and Inclusion committee where we worked on improving recruitment, retention, and advancement for underrepresented minorities in technology.

Ingenuity is a non-profit organization that supports fine arts programs in the Chicago Public Schools. Each year, Ingenuity collects data on fine arts programs across the city, and uses that data to create an online guide called the artlook map. I served on an advisory panel that focused on Ingenuity’s collection and use of data to improve fine arts education.
