Employed as an Electronics Engineer in the Communications and Network Development group. Lead developer of high-speed serial communications on the 93XX project, which is a data communication controller. Team member of the hardware design team that developed the high-speed communications (HSC) board based on the Motorola MC68360 Quad Integrated Communication Controller. Solely responsible for the development of the SDLC primary and secondary software modules. Co-wrote the hardware driver for the HSC board with one other engineer. Current duties include development of the Frame Relay protocol module and assisting another engineer with the X.25 protocol module. The software development environment is primarily VAX based using the BSO C compiler, as well as UNIX based SUN workstations. Current experience with HP, Applied, and HMI 68XX0 emulators.

Employed as an Engineering Consultant to IBM in the Research Triangle Park. Initial position was lead technical consultant on the IBM 3174 project, a real-time computer communications controller. Promoted to manager of the Host Communications group. This group consisted of 11 engineers whose responsibilities were developing and maintaining the hardware and microcode on the 3174 controller. Communication areas supported by the 3174 are Frame Relay, FDDI, Token Ring, TCP/IP, Ethernet, APPN, BiSync, SDLC, X.25, and X.21. As manager, assigned individual workloads, scheduled new tasks, conducted personnel performance reviews, and oversaw new development projects. I was also a national corporate instructor for C and C++.
