I have finished the post-bacchelaureate pre-medical program requirements at West Chester University of PA and earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology at Kutztown University of PA with minors in Political Science and Sociology. Now that I have finished classroom work I am currently holding a voluntary, position as a Biological Technician, conducting research on Alzheimer's disease along with other forms of Dementia with the Veteran's Administration (VA). I also volunteer my time through a YMCA program called 'Friendly Fitness', where I am a mentor teaching adolescents physical fitness through positive reinforcement. I am seeking any type of employment opportunity, but prefer a full time position and I am very willing to travel. Specialties: Understanding laboratory safety techniques and handling of chemicals, knowledge of HIPAA guidelines, demonstration of patience through challenging situations.

Research focus was on Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and other neurological disease, including epilepsy. Followed HIPAA guidelines for working with de-identified human samples. Conducted experiments such as: DNA purification from whole blood; genetic analysis of the human DNA samples using PCR-based assays; primary cell culture involving dissection and expansion of cells from a whole organism; protein expression analysis in animal neurological tissue using immunohistochemistry and western blot. Examined gross anatomical features of the human brain and spinal cord in both healthy and disease states. Recorded data and maintained a detailed laboratory notebook.
