Cardiol Therapeutics Inc. The US FDA has granted Orphan Drug Designation to CardiolRx™ for the treatment of pericarditis, which includes recurrent pericarditis. Cardiol is also developing CRD-38, a novel subcutaneously administered drug formulation of cannabidiol intended for use in heart failure – a leading cause of death and hospitalization in the developed world, with associated healthcare costs in the United States exceeding $30 billion annually. In this multi-functional role reported to the President and CEO and provided executive level support to key members of the senior management team, including the President and CEO, the Senior Vice-President, Scientific Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, the Chief Scientist, the Director of Investor Relations, the Vice President, Finance and CFO, and legal counsel. • Audited the company’s financial and operational documentation and processes to ensure compliance with requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act 2002 • Reduced expenses associated with shareholder mailings (interim financial statements) and investor packages (press releases, annual reports, fact sheets) by 50% by processing them in-house • Assisted in creation of new magazine-style Annual Report which could easily be updated and printed in-house as required throughout the year realizing considerable savings and ensuring current information would be distributed to shareholders and investors in a timely manner. • Played a key role in editing and proof-reading most company documents, including press releases, Annual Report, conference presentations, service manual, regulatory submissions, various clinical trial documents, scientific and published papers, and the company newsletter, to ensure accuracy and consistency of the message conveyed to shareholders, investors, brokers, analysts, clinical investigators, and employees • As the first employee of the company, worked closely with the founders to develop the framework and processes of a company which grew to employ over 250 people in Canada, the U.S., and Ireland, raised over $30 million in the past ten years, and conducted one of the largest ever Phase III heart failure clinical trials
