Badr Buhannad

Badr Buhannad is the Director General of Dubai Silicon Oasis, where he leads the strategic transformation of Dubai’s flagship knowledge and innovation district. With over 20 years of experience in corporate strategy, digital transformation, and operational excellence, he is known for aligning visionary goals with execution to drive measurable impact. Previously, Badr Buhannad served as Deputy Director General of DSO and Chief Corporate Support Officer at Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), where he spearheaded enterprise-wide digital initiatives, supply chain optimization, and the Authority’s transformation roadmap. He played a key role in shaping DIEZ’s cluster-based development model and strengthening cross-sector alignment. At Dubai Silicon Oasis, he has led several pivotal initiatives including the launch of the 2021 Strategic Pillars: Smart City, Desired Society, Technology Hub, and Happiest People. His leadership has modernized infrastructure, reengineered processes, and fostered a high-performance culture. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at DIFC Authority, Dubai World, and the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, building deep expertise in governance, risk, and audit. Badr Buhannad also serves as a member of the Dubai Free Zone Council’s Digital Committee, contributing to the UAE’s national digital transformation agenda. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Higher Diploma in Accounting from the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai.
