President and CEO @ MARSHALL HEIGHTS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION
About
Twenty-five years ago, I started my career as a consultant at Accenture. Today, I lead an organization that has transformed the economic landscape of one of Washington, DC's most underserved communities. The thread connecting those two chapters? A relentless focus on results — and a belief that business excellence and social impact are not mutually exclusive. As President & CEO of Marshall Heights Community Development Organization (MHCDO), I oversee a portfolio of programs that drive small business growth, real estate development, and economic empowerment in Ward 7, Washington, DC. Under my leadership, the organization has grown revenue by 128%, secured $3M in federal funding for a small business incubator, and catalyzed $15M in commercial real estate development. My path to this work has been anything but linear — and I think that's a strength.I've co-founded and scaled a real estate investment firm. I've served as CFO of an international clothing company, securing $750K in capital funding and reducing operational errors by 90%. I've managed $43M in federal government contracts. I've been appointed by the Mayor of DC to shape the city's housing policy. And I've built relationships — with funders, elected officials, community residents, corporate partners, and entrepreneurs — that have turned strategy into reality. The Washington Business Journal recognized me as a Diversity Business Leader of the Year in 2024. I'm also an alumnus of Leadership Greater Washington and the Urban Land Institute Regional Leadership Institute — networks that reflect both my investment in this city and my commitment to continuous growth.I'm always interested in connecting with leaders across economic development, real estate, philanthropy, and the public sector. If our work intersects, I'd welcome the conversation.
