Programme Director Perak Festival of Ideas

Reporting directly to the CEO of Institute Darul Ridzuan (a think tank formed by the State Government of Perak, Malaysia) with regular reporting and consultation to the Chief Minister of Perak and members of the State Assembly, Aziph had overall responsibility for the success of the Festival, including financial, participation, exposure, economic impact and guest satisfaction. The Perak Festival of Ideas together with the Pangkor Dialogue 2017, was the Perak State’s single biggest investment to propel the state into the knowledge economy. Perak Festival of Ideas is the first of its kind in Malaysia. The State Government of Perak, with aspirations to make Ipoh a "City of Knowledge" and Perak a Knowledge Based State is organizing a week long festival of ideas which will culminate in the Pangkor Dialogue 2017. Scheduled from the 6th till the 12th of September 2017, Perak Festival of Ideas will bring together seminars, conferences and cultural & commercial events under a single banner. All "Official Perak Festival of Ideas Event" would be Interactive, Interesting, Invigorating, Innovative, Idea Generating and Improve the state of Perak.

Aziph reports directly to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, who was the Federal Minister of Science, Technology (MOSTI) and Innovation. The BOT includes high profile captains of the industry, prominent scientists and senior government officials including Secretary Generals of several Federal Government ministries. Aziph was a member of the Top Management council of the Ministry of Science and sits on several high impact committees relating to science and innovation across the Government of Malaysia. He makes a bi-annual presentation to the Prime Minister of Malaysia on Grassroots Innovation. As CEO, Aziph has introduced numerous innovations to make the work of YIM more effective and far reaching. Formalizing the Core Values of the organization helped galvanize the workforce (YIMsters) and crystallised their resolve to make Malaysia a better a place through innovation. Aziph has led multi million Ringgit programmes with various state governments, Ministries and Agencies throughout Malaysia, and regularly sits on Investment evaluation committees in several Government Agencies. Aziph also sits on the Board of Directors of several subsidiaries of YIM that take on projects commercially. Several large companies work with YIM through their CSR funds to impact the society. Aziph is recognized internationally for his work in developing and nurturing Grassroots Innovation, and has been invited to speak and share his experience in more than 12 countries across the globe. Locally, Aziph gives speeches at village level to national platforms on a regular basis, and is a member of several national innovation selection and management committees, as well as the Reasearch University Committee at MOHE. On top of CEO responsibilities, Aziph continued to play the role of COO, including all of the operational focused activities therein.
