My professional experience centers around drug product formulation and process development. During my career, I’ve led several R&D and client projects involving: Liquid and lyophilized formulation and process development of biologics (e.g., antibodies, proteins, vaccines) and small-molecule drugs (e.g., anti-cancers and anti-infectives). Design and development of advanced delivery systems, including liposomes for targeted delivery of anti-cancer and anti-infective drugs, lipid nanoparticles for RNA vaccines and therapeutics, polymeric nanoparticles for the delivery of genetic materials (e.g., mRNA, pDNA), and long-acting parenteral formulations such as polymeric microparticles and implants for delivery of small molecules. I have extensive experience in leading project activities, managing progress, and achieving key objectives with cross-functional teams while exploring alternative pathways within Research and CMC environments. In my current role as a team lead, I have also developed strong skills in people management, ensuring effective team collaboration and successful project outcomes.

The challenge of my Ph.D. project was to synthesis and characterize different photosensitive polypyridyl Ruthenium complexes with potent anticancer properties. These metal complexes were formulated at the surface of liposomal lipid bilayers. By utilizing different analytical, physical, and biochemical techniques the potential application of these lipid-based particles in molecular motion and also in the targeted drug delivery and light-activated cancer therapy was investigated.
