Ayumi Watanabe

I teach beginner-level Japanese to international students, mainly using Genki I & II. I have experience supporting complete beginners, including students with no knowledge of hiragana, and I adapt my teaching style based on each learner’s level and needs. I conduct both one-on-one and small group lessons (2 students), aiming to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. While I try to maximize the use of Japanese during lessons, I also use English when necessary to ensure clear understanding. I also introduce aspects of Japanese culture when relevant and continue to improve my teaching skills through practical experience. I am continuously developing my teaching approach while gaining hands-on experience in Japanese language education.

I volunteer as an online Japanese teacher, where I read Japanese books with my students, engage in daily conversations, and mainly focus on introducing them to new Japanese vocabulary. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and interactive.
